Five Reasons You’ll Love Your HydroKleen208 Mini Split Cleaning

Five Reasons You’ll Love A HydroKleen208 Mini Split CleaningHydroKleen has been the internationally-recognized leader in mini split cleaning for more than a decade. Now, HydroKleen208 brings that excellent quality and exceptional service to the Treasure Valley!

If you’ve had your mini split for a few years, you know how comfortable they can make your home — and how much they can lower your electric bill!

But, after a few years, those benefits don’t seem as great as when you first had your system installed. Or, as we’ve heard from many clients, the air in your home is starting to feel yucky.

The bad news is that this is typical with ductless heat pumps systems. Dust, dirt, and microbial buildup in the air handlers diminish your mini split’s performance and efficiency. Plus, organic contaminants — mold in particular — affect your indoor air quality.

But the good news is that reversing this all is fast and easy with a mini split deep cleaning!

Even if you’ve had regular tune-ups or a quick clean, you’ve never had an experience like what HydroKleen offers. Our focus is solely on deep cleaning. We use customized tools, cleaning agents, and processes to clean your entire system quickly and effectively.

That’s why homeowners across the world love HydroKleen — and why it’s catching on here in Idaho!

And, if you’re still not sure if HydroKleen is the best choice for your home, we’ve got five great reasons why you’ll love our cleaning:

  1. Better Indoor Air Quality
  2. Lower Electric BIlls
  3. Better Comfort
  4. An Excellent Experience
  5. Peace Of Mind — Guaranteed!

Better Indoor Air Quality

We specially designed our cleaning to eradicate the dust, dirt, and microbial contamination inside your mini split air handlers. The result is better indoor air quality that you’ll notice right away.

Your mini split comes with filters to prevent dust, dirt, and other contaminants from circulating through the air. But they can’t block everything. And, you can’t clean the coils or the parts deep inside your system.

When those components get microbial buildup on them (and they will), you end up breathing in bacteria, mold spores, and other nasty stuff. Our cleaning gets rid of all that — guaranteed.

Lower Electric Bills

Lower Energy Bills Come With Increased EfficiencyA dirty mini split needs more energy to run than a clean system. As a result, you end up paying more on your electric bill each month. That’s even with regular maintenance and filter cleanings.

But, a deep clean gets rid of everything that’s clogging your system — not just what you or a general HVAC technician can access.

The result? Up to a 30 percent decrease on your utility bills after a single cleaning!

Better Comfort

A clogged system doesn’t just cost more to run. It also won’t work properly. That means hot or cold spots in the house and more humidity in the summer.

Once again, a deep cleaning makes all the difference! And it’s often cheaper than the cost for a repairman — especially if the problem gets worse over time.

An Excellent Experience

At HydroKleen, we make sure your experience with us is as easy and satisfying as possible.

Our training involves more than just cleaning. We ensure everyone you speak with is helpful, respectful and makes your day a little better.

And if it’s not? We’ve got that covered, too.

Peace Of Mind — Guaranteed!

Every HydroKleen visit comes with a guarantee that your system is as clean as the day you bought it. And that you had a great experience with our team. If that’s not the case, then the cleaning is on us.

And so is your next one.

If you’re not satisfied, we’ll refund the cost of your cleaning. And, we’ll pay for a competitor to come in after us. It’s our way of offering peace of mind before, during, and after our visit.

When we’re done, you’re confident that your air is clean, your home is safe, and your mini split is in excellent condition.

That can save you money later, too: If you ever need to call in a warranty claim, you’ll have documentation showing that you followed all the maintenance requirements to keep your warranty valid.

Or, if you’re still thinking about it, don’t worry! We understand you may still have some questions about our process and what to expect when we arrive.

Either way, you’re in the right place. In this article, we’ll walk you through everything we do from the moment you contact us to what we do when we get to your home, and finally, what to look for when we leave.

Of course, you can always call us with any questions. We’re always happy to help! Or, you can read through it here if that’s easier. Either way, when you’re ready to schedule a cleaning, you can click here or call us at (208) 779-5596.

Setting Your Appointment

The first thing we’ll want to know (after your name, of course) is what problems you’re having with your mini split. We’ll also want to know how long they’ve been happening and the last time it was cleaned.

We’ll let you know the common causes for what you’re experiencing. And if cleaning can help.

When you’re ready to schedule, we’ll give you the price and how long the cleaning will take. We calculate both based on the number of units you have. Then we’ll set the time, confirm your address, and get all the information we need.

What To Do Before We Arrive

Once you have an appointment, there’s nothing to do before we arrive!

We take extra special care to leave your home as clean as when we entered. You don’t need to worry about covering flooring, carpets, or furniture. You also won’t need to move anything out of the way. We’ll handle all that before we start.

And, we’ll call you the day before your appointment and an hour before we get there.

What Happens During The Visit

Here’s everything to expect from the moment we knock on your door until we drive away:

Preparation

The first thing we do is lay down a mat when we come in. Our technicians will walk in and out a few times, and we want to keep your home clean.

Then, the technician inspects each unit. They’ll let you know the state of your system overall and then confirm the price and how long the visit will last.

Cleaning The Air Handlers

How Often Should A Mini Split Be Cleaned? | HydroKleen208Our technician removes the casings and filters from the indoor units. Then, they attach a catchment bag under the air handler that catches everything that comes out during the cleaning. It keeps your house spotless during the visit.

During the visit, your technician will invite you to see the work they’ve done so far. This is your chance to see the impact your cleaning makes! You’ll see the vast difference between the part of the air handler we’ve cleaned versus the section that’s still dirty.

We’ll do the same for each indoor unit. Then, we head outside.

Cleaning The Heat Pump

We use a similar process as inside to clean your heat pump.

Cleaning The Casings And Filters

We leave the casings and filters outside and leave them there to dry while we wrap up inside.

Cleaning Up

Once we’re done, we remove the catchment bags and reattach the casings and filters. We can spray a sanitizer on the coils for a fresh smell if you prefer. Finally, we’ll complete the paperwork, wrap up the mats and head out.

Waste Removal

Our cleaning agents are 100-percent biodegradable and safe for the environment. So, there’s no worry about what happens to all the dirty water in the catchment bags. They won’t harm the water supply or cause problems for your plumbing or sewer system.

The HydroKleen Guarantee

We work hard to make sure our visit was fast and easy for you. And that you’re delighted with the cleaning and our technician. If not? The cleaning — and your next one — is free.

If our visit doesn’t meet your expectations, we’ll refund your money. And, we’ll pay for one of our competitors to clean your system after us. That’s the HydroKleen guarantee!

A HydroKleen208 visit costs $384 to deep clean a heat pump and one indoor unit. Additional indoor units cost $117 each. We eradicate microbial contaminants in heat pump systems, and our cleaning solutions are 100-percent environmentally safe.

What Does It Cost To Clean A Heat Pump And Mini Split In Boise Metro?Getting a heat pump deep-clean every year or so is more important than you may realize! Especially with a mini split system. It’s an additional service you should consider along with your routine maintenance.

And, it’s well worth the time and effort.

While the air handlers in your home do a fantastic job of keeping you comfortable, they also are breeding grounds for mold and other microbial contaminants.

In the worst situations, they’ve led to cases of toxic mold syndrome. Or, people with allergies, asthma, or COPD experience flare-ups.

That’s because all the nasty stuff building up inside your air handlers circulates through the air in your home!

Aside from the health concerns, you’ll also notice dips in your system’s performance — and increases in your electric bill.

These problems crop up when the air handlers are clogged and can’t move air around as well. Then, your heat pump works harder to maintain the temperature you want. That means it uses more electricity, leading to higher bills.

These issues have made for some rude awakenings for homeowners in Boise Metro and Valley County. It seemed like their excellent new heat pump systems were too good to be true.

And yes, mold and other buildup in mini splits is a serious problem. But the good news is that the solution is fast and easy.

HydroKleen’s deep cleaning process is designed specifically for these kinds of systems. Our equipment gets into every nook and cranny of your heat pump and air handlers to wipe out every trace of mold or other microbial contaminants.

The process is fast, easy, and we always leave your house just as clean as we found it. Plus, our cleaning solutions are 100-percent safe for the environment! You never have to worry about bringing nasty chemicals into your home — or about us dumping anything like that in the water.

In this article, you’ll learn much more about our process, why it works so well, and why it’s so important for your home, health, and indoor air quality. If you have any questions, or you’re ready to set an appointment, click here or call us at (208) 779-5596.

Heat Pump System Deep Cleaning Vs. Routine Maintenance

A heat pump deep clean doesn’t replace routine maintenance. Those annual tune-ups from an HVAC professional keep the machines running well. But, even the best HVAC tech can’t clean out all the dirt, dust, and organic buildup inside an air handler.

The parts are small and delicate, so they risk breaking something. The tech would also have to disassemble the entire unit to get everything.

That would take hours and cost you a small fortune. Even then, there’s no guarantee.

And you don’t want even a little bit of mold in there! It won’t take long for it to cultivate again in a dark, damp, and warm place like that. Before you know it, your system will be spreading mold spores through the air in your home again.

A deep-cleaning addresses all these challenges.

How Mini Split Deep-Cleaning Works

What Does It Cost To Clean A Heat Pump And Mini Split In Boise Metro? The HydroKleen mini split deep cleaning process looks simple, but don’t let that fool you: There’s well over a decade of research and development behind it!

We start by opening the panel in the air handler and taking out the filter. We wipe down the inside of the casing and attach a catchment bag right under the unit.

Then, we use a power washer with a specialized nozzle to reach past what you can see to hit every inch of the unit. The pressure is finely calibrated to do the job without damaging anything.

While that’s drying, we’ll take the filters outside and wash those along with the heat pump. The entire process usually takes about an hour, and we’re always careful to leave your home just like we found it.

Benefits Of Deep Cleaning Your Heat Pump

Is the deep cleaning worth it? We think so, and so do our customers! They feel the difference in their home as soon as we’re done. The cleaning provides:

  1. Better Indoor Air Quality
  2. Better Comfort
  3. Lower Energy Bills

Better Indoor Air Quality

A clean heat pump system circulates cleaner air throughout your home. Whatever’s building up inside the air handler spreads through the air.

That can result in some minor discomfort, like allergy symptoms acting up because there’s a lot of dust flying around. Or, the worst-case scenario: Toxic mold syndrome, brought on from exposure to mold spores all the time.

Better Comfort

A clean system works better! With nothing gumming up the works in your heat pump, the moving parts inside it do a better job of moving heat around. That means cooler summer days and warmer winter nights.

Lower Energy Bills

Heat pumps and mini splits are popular in large part because they use much less energy than conventional heating and cooling. But, the dirty (literally) secret is: They lose a lot of their efficiency without regular cleaning.

We mentioned how a clean system performs better. Well, it also requires much less energy to do the job.

An annual deep cleaning is one of the best ways to get your system working as efficiently as it did the day you installed it.

How Often Should A Mini Split Be Cleaned? | HydroKleen208

How Often Should A Mini Split Be Cleaned?

How Often Should A Mini Split Be Cleaned? | HydroKleen208Ideally, you should have your mini split system serviced and deep-cleaned annually. While most companies will clean your system during routine maintenance, it doesn’t take the place of deep cleaning that will get rid of mold and microbial contamination.

Mini splits are more popular than ever today because they make your home feel great and they don’t use a lot of energy. That makes them a considerable improvement over central air, which often leaves some rooms warmer than others.

And, they’re way better than energy-guzzling window units or portable ACs.

But, they do require more attention than conventional units. For most homeowners, it’s a small tradeoff for excellent comfort and lower energy bills.

Today, most homeowners already know to change or clean filters and get a tune-up. But, mini splits also require deep cleaning.

That’s because it’s very easy for mold and other microbial contaminants to build up inside the air handlers and even on the heat pump outside.

The result? Lousy air quality that makes you feel crummy and triggers asthma, allergy, and COPD symptoms. Hot and cold spots in your home because the system can’t work as well.

And higher electric bills as your ductless system tries to work despite being gummed up.

But, the solution is simple! With Hydrokleen, a quick cleaning once a year gives you the peace of mind that your home is comfortable and your air is healthy.

We use tools and cleaning solutions that are custom-made to quickly and thoroughly clean your air handlers and heat pump. Everything, from the sprayers to the catchment bags and the floor coverings we use, was carefully designed and improved over the years to clean your system entirely while keeping your home as neat as when we got there.

And, the cleaning agents we use are 100-percent environmentally friendly! We’re not bringing any nasty chemicals into your home or adding any pollutants to the air or water.

In this article, we’ll talk a little bit more about mini splits and mold, how long these systems can last, and how to keep them running as long as possible.

Do Mini Splits Get Mold?

This Ductless Mini Split Has Gathered Mold

It’s very easy — and very common — for mini splits to get mold in them. Mold requires dark, damp, and warm places to grow. The inside of the air handlers meets all those requirements. And, it’s not easy to clean them thoroughly, even for most HVAC professionals.

The challenge comes with getting all the way inside the unit. During a tune-up or routine maintenance, a good HVAC tech cleans the filter, the inside and outside of the casing, and some of the fins.

But, those fins are very delicate, and there are grooves in between them. There’s also a lot of room for mold and microbial growth behind in other parts of the unit.

At best, a tech using regular cleaning tools would have to manually and carefully scrub each groove to remove buildup. It would take hours and cost you a bundle.

Even then, they can’t get to contaminants beyond that without taking apart the air handler. Which, of course, would mean a lot more time and money.

That’s where HydroKleen comes in.

Deep Cleaning A Mini Split

Since forming in 2008, HydroKleen has focused on just one thing: Deep-cleaning mini split systems to make them run great, use as little energy as possible, and help keep your indoor air quality at a safe, healthy level.

As a result, we’re able to do what conventional heating and cooling companies can’t.

We built and designed our equipment to quickly reach every nook and cranny in your air handlers and heat pump. And, our cleaning solution eradicates microbial growths, bacteria, mold, and more without using any dangerous chemicals.

Now, deep cleaning doesn’t take the place of regular maintenance. You should still clean your filter every two to four weeks. And get an annual tune-up. That heads off any mechanical issues and keeps your warranty valid.

The last step is the deep clean. Depending on how dirty your system gets, you can get these annually or leave more time between appointments.

Following this routine keeps your system running for years to come!

How Long Should A Mini Split Last?

A mini split can last you 15 years or more with the proper care and maintenance. They can also last for a much shorter amount of time (even as little as a decade) without regular service.

That’s a big part of the reason why cleanings are so important. When your air handlers are clogged, the whole system must work harder to maintain the temperature you want. That means extra wear and tear on all the moving parts.

Without the proper care, you’ll start noticing hot and cold spots in your house. You’ll also need repairs more often. You’ll also pay more on your electric bill.

And, of course, you’ll start noticing those indoor air quality issues. The worst-case scenario is toxic mold syndrome. But, things don’t have to be that bad for you to start having allergy- or asthma-like symptoms.
